Te Kaakano Community Garden and Nursery
We offer an environment for volunteers to help with a variety of gardening and nursery tasks. This is a great way to socialise and gain some horticultural and permaculture skills! The community garden is a place where local whanau/families work together. We plan the garden and grow vegetables for our families and the food bank.
Children are welcome to come with their family and be part of the team. We look after the garden on Fridays and sometimes gather to work and enjoy each other’s company on the weekend. Every second Sunday of the month (2-5pm) is our regular meeting day. We are still learning how to care for the land and grow healthy vegetables sustainably.
If you would like to know more about the community garden and how you can contribute then please contact Tania on (07) 855 2728
Desert Spring Ministries
Is a community centre in the Fairfield and Enderley neighbourhood of Hamilton. We try to encourage a sense of belonging and contribution, this means we work like a supportive family, where there are opportunities for people to care and help each other
