Services

We provide a place to connect our communities to the land while working together to grow our own food and native plants.
We hope that as we work together we increase awareness of environmental needs and conservation issues and explore what it means to be a sustainable and healthy community.

Working Bees

Mornings at the gardens are fantastic! – Usually a small group gets stuck in doing basic tasks such as planting and weeding and we always enjoy a great morning tea together. In season - this includes fruit grown on our very own fruit trees. This is an ideal time to bring children or come along for some time out for you.

Education

We want to see people actively involved in our community – and believe the Te Kaakano Community gardens provide an opportunity to inspire people to grow their own food. In doing this we also become more aware of environmental issues – and the needs in our surrounding community related to these.
